photography by Jack StoddartJack Stoddart Photography & Craft Gallery is holding its 5th Annual Open House November 16, 17, 18, from 10:00AM- 8:00PM each day.

This gallery open house is fast becoming one of the most popular holiday shopping events. It is an opportunity to collect unique artworks of the nations top craftsmen in a scenic rural environment on the Stoddart family farm located on the banks of the west fork of the Obey River.

The 2007 event will focus on traditional fine art crafts from over twenty-five artists to include clay, wood, glass, jewelry, natural fibers, sculpture and more. Outdoor featured artists will include Russ Jacobsohn, known for his life size wood rocking horse sculptures and Russ Faxon, a bronze sculptor with exhibits around the world including Chet Atkins, Minnie Pearl and Roy Acuff at the Ryman.

Displayed in the upstairs gallery will be Jack Stoddart’s black and white photographs soon to be permanently displayed at the Tennessee State Museum, “The Plateau Years.” These are images taken by Jack from 1972-1986 on the Cumberland Plateau. Lois Riggins-Ezell, Director Tennessee State Museum, considers the “Plateau Collection” of images to be definitive, a true inside perspective of a now vanished culture of people.

Gourmet food from Pig Out, smoked on site, includes chicken, pulled pork and tenderloin. Bring your chairs or blankets for three days of live music from Noon-3PM daily featuring Warren Gently and Dry Valley Gamblers. Camera crews will be on hand to document this event for rebroadcast on local PBS affiliate WCTE.

Directions: Jack Stoddart Photography & Craft Gallery is located directly in between Cookeville and Crossville twenty minutes off I-40 at exit #300. Exit towards Monterey. At the second stop light turn left onto Hwy. 84 towards Livingston. Go 7-8 miles and turn right on Dry Hollow Rd, after Livingston Quik Mart (red tin roof). Go 6-7 miles and turn left on Shiloh Rd.
