St. James Court Art Show-Louisville

October 5, 6 & 7: The first weekend in October brings to Louisville, KY, the 51st Annual St. James Court Art Show in the Old Louisville Neighborhood. This is definitely a destination art fair with over 650 exhibitors nestled into the shady streets of a lovely old neighborhood of fine Victorian homes.

This event (second in popularity only to the Kentucky Derby) in L’ville is so beloved that they even close the schools on Friday so no one has to miss it.

You will find art in all price ranges, from the lowly “art-on-a-stick” (in this season it is usually a ghost cutout on a stick) to fine sculpture and paintings. Bring fifty cents or bring $5000, everyone will find something to delight them.

You will see many friends of mine, including:

Jewelers: David Smallcombe, Chris Bartling, Robert Trisko

Leather: Alberto & Marcella Toro, Joseph Henderson

Glass: James Wilbat

Ceramics: Louis & Christine Colombarini

A pat on the back to the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau for adding this popular event to its list of podcasts that show off great things to do in their town. Be on the look out for the podcast featuring St. James at starting in September highlighting Louisville’s art scene as it prepares for the show.

This is a great weekend to be in Louisville, KY!
