One of the Biggies–The St. Louis Art Fair

If you live anywhere near St. Louis, MO, this is the weekend (Sept. 7-9) to really see the best art fair artists in the country in one concentrated dose. At the St. Louis Art Fair almost 1500 artists vie for 165 spaces. This is really the creme de la creme. The usual accoutrements will also be there: fine jazz, great food and interactive activities.The weekend’s hours:

  • Friday from 5 pm to 10 pm
  • Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm
  • Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm

One really knows that you have arrived when spinoff art fairs begin to pop up. Not that anyone didn’t know from the very first day ten years ago that the St. Louis Art Fair in Clayton, MO, was going to have a long run as a prime event offering the very best of one-of-a-kind art.

Since 2004 though St. Louisans have been able to also attend Art Outside, an alternative juried and invitational art fair dedicated to showcasing local art in an approachable venue and manner. Here are the details:

  • 50 local artists
  • Saturday – 10 am to 10 pm
  • at the Schlafly Bottleworks
  • performances
  • cool collaborative art projects
